Interview with NotSoPerfect

We found NotSoPerfect on Slushe and then we talked with them about their work as an 3D NSFW smut artist
Date: 2024-02-24

On what platforms can we find you?

I mainly post my “hardcore” and “extreme stuff” NSFW stuff on Slushe since none of my followers there actually knows me on a personal level unlike than Twitter and DeviantArt. While some of my friends know that I do NSFW renders they don’t know exactly what kind of stuff.

NotSoPerfect

How happy are you on these platforms?

Twitter is practically dead for me. I have a very, very low audience reach and amount of likes I’m receiving. So I don’t make Twitter a priority. As for Deviantart and Slushe, I may not have very huge followership but there are actually people who see my content and appreciate it

What kind content do you create?

I mainly do rendered images of NSFW fanarts, ranging from vanilla female to Futanari stuff. I don’t specifically have a theme. Nor do I have fanarts I’m known for. I do stuff randomly and mostly based on who or what characters I feel doing at that time. Most of the fanarts I did are from Dead or Alive, League of Legends, Overwatch and Nier Automata. I never delve deep on these fanbases, I just pick specific characters I want and do rendered images about them

What kind of people consume your content? What would be a typical persona?

I simply upload my work online and hope it garners some attention from the viewers. If they are fan of vanilla or futa content, I bear no judgement. However, if people request bestiality, underage or extreme violence content that’s where I draw the line and I would straight up reject that offer. I would said to them: “I’m sorry, but I’m not interested”. Fortunately this never happened to me yet

What demotivates you the most in what you are doing?

  • My ability to provide high quality products

I never see myself as a great 3d artist or modeler. I honestly never made my own characters from scratch. What I usually do is to download specific models from Smutbase and use them. I never created a model from scratch. I never sculped something from zero nor I retopologize, UV unwrap, texture and rigging them. I may be familiar with these terms but I never work myself with these in depth.

I prefer to use an already preexisting main body mesh. Then customize it until it looks like what it is supposed to look like. I might model them with simple clothing or any props that would make the character look like the character is supposed to be. I already did that with a so far unreleased custom Female Loki work. I worked with the base body model I had, changed the face a little bit and modeled simple clothing and props to it to make the character more recognizable.

  • My hardware limitations

I’m currently using a laptop from 2016. It’s getting pretty old already. So having a stronger PC or Laptop would definitely provide me the option to create better output. Rendering in 4k or even 8k images with 4k textures will definitely look better than a standard 1080x1920 image with 1-2k textures at best.

How much is your weekly workload for you as an artist and how much is it together with your day job?

Unfortunately I currently don’t have a job. That’s why I’m able for this kind of stuff. I have a degree in architecture and right now I’m looking for a job as a 3D visualizer for design companies. I already were thinking if I still be able to make NSFW stuff being busy being employed in a regular work environment. But not only that but also daily errands and house chore would add cost me more time. I think that I can still make a couple of images here and there. But the frequency of my uploads would definitely change. But I hope I will grow with it as a hobby and I plan to provide time for this stuff in the future.

When did you start being an artist?

I discovered in high school that I’m interested in arts. I used to draw a lot in traditional media like graphite and pens. Plus create props for school events and activities. After that in college learning for my architecture degree helped me a lot to develop my artistic skills. It opened me to different mediums like watercolor, markers but also modern digital media and digital drawing and even some 3D modelling when we worked on architectural interiors and buildings. When I’ve heard about the free software Blender and found out that most NSFW artists use that program that was the moment where I told myself: “I should try making content”

What are your goals and ambitions?

I never had any super big goals. All I wanted is to earn enough money from the work I enjoy. Just enough to sustain myself, my future family and support my parents financially. I want to be able to spend with my family and my hobbies as doing NSFW stuff and playing games

Would you open up to your future wife and tell them about your smut stuff?

I would Probably tell my wife, especially when it’s making money. I believe the partner have the right to know about it. But it would be different if my partner would ask me to stop doing it. There’s no reason to stop doing since it doesn’t offend people, it doesn’t ruin relationships. It’s simply someone posting art online for people to appreciate. My current partner is aware that I do NSFW stuff. I just told her that I do NSFW stuff and shared a couple of images so far

Are you in contact with other artists? How does your network looks like?

The closest thing I have in that are my friends who are also in the artistic field although obviously in a different theme and medium. I’m not in contact with other content creators or other people in the same field as I am. The most I did in this regard is to join some discord NSFW 3D groups and ask questions about how to do this and that

What is the gear you are using?

I got my laptop since 2016 and couldn’t get a new one due to financial reasons, so please bear with me:

  • Asus N551JX
  • Intel Core i7-4720 HQ 2.60 GHz
  • Orignally 8GB ram but upgraded to 16GB
  • 1 TB HDD storage
  • 4GB GTX950M

What software are you using?

  • Blender (Its free and a lot of people share free models)
  • Photoshop (for post processing)

How do you feel being a person actively involved in pornography?

I am honestly a little ashamed. I kinda slid into this stuff while doing my degree. But at the end of the day it’s what I am doing and I think it became a part of me. No matter straight up porn renders or suggestive and sexy ones. But I still try not to tell everyone who knows me that I’m doing this kind of stuff

Do you have a commission sheet?

I don’t have one as I never had the confidence to make one. The number of character models I have now is limited. So if someone requests a render of a specific character then it’s likely that I don’t have that model and I can’t make it. I’m kinda interested in the subscription system on DeviantArt. But I really need to properly plan it before so it can be successfull. The payment is based on deviantarts own currency system, which can be bought with real money and I think the points can be converted to real money too. Besides of that I did some non-NSFW commissions in the past related to my architecture degree

Are you rich yet?

Since I’m currently unemployed, I can say the profit I earned from my work isn’t enough for me to survive

What types of porn do you enjoy?

I enjoy watching hentai animation and 3D animations. Maybe it’s just me but I find that more enjoyable to watch rather than real pornography. I could watch a Hentai or 3D nimation where the female is involved with 3 male partners but I can’t stand to watch the same in actual porn. I would feel somewhat disgusted. In terms of actual porn content I usually consume vanilla stuff like vaginal, anal, oral. Nothing extreme involved like super rough sex like BDSM.

NotSoPerfect

What artists in the 3D smut field are you looking up to and why?

Give us a shout out to some small 3D smut artists who deserve more attention!

I never met, talked nor interacted with any small 3D smut content creator. I don’t know anyone

Thanks for the interview NotSoPerfect!
